Abbey Forged Products was founded in 1982 under the name ‘Abbey Stainless’, specialising in the supply of stainless bar and forgings through a sub contract network, working to short lead times. In 2004 the company acquired a local forgemaster, which had a small open die forge and both a heat treatment and a machining facility. Acquisition of two further machining facilities and a new six acre site allowed them to put all operations under one roof. This ensured smooth logistics, which made short lead times a possibility, which in turn gained the recognition and approval of major international companies such as BP, Exxon & Statoil. In 2010 the company reassessed its position as a market leader in the industry and rebranded as Abbey Forged Products, to emphasize the focus on forgings.
