The Bear

CASA ESTUDIO’s design for their Bear Woodstock is a hand-painted version of the flower pattern the duo created for the Sketch Parlour interior. For their Bear sculpture they modified the design by enlarging the hand-painted flowers which are used to playfully conceal various body parts.

The design combines these large flowers and leaves with the new addition of the CND symbol, which serves as a reference to Woodstock, ‘The Most Famous Small Town in the World’.

CASA ESTUDIO is artist Giles Round and designer Andrés Ros Soto. Focusing on the design of exhibitions, furniture and print CASA ESTUDIO is the design studio founded by designer Andrés Ros Soto and artist Giles Round. Their work is characterised by bold use of colour, pattern and geometry. Recent work includes a wall covering with artists’ wallpaper company CommonRoom launched at Shoreditch Design Triangle, London, 2018; the interior of the Parlour at Sketch, London, 2017 and the 3D and graphics of the exhibitions ‘Magnificent Obsessions’ and ‘Francis Bacon and the Masters’, Sainsbury Centre, Norwich, 2015-16. Since 2010 CASA ESTUDIO has collaborated with various retailers and manufacturers to produce commercially available homewares.
