Brook House Junior School
The Bear
Brook House Junior School is situated in Beighton and is a 3 form entry junior school which runs from years 3-6 with approximately 350 pupils on roll. The school are very enthusiastic about art, music and sports and currently have sports teams for football, gymnastics and swimming. All the staff are ‘bear-y’ excited about having their very own ‘Little Bear’. Lots of staff have needed the Sheffield Children’s Hospital for their own children and their has been lots of pupils, past and present, who have been helped by the hospital so it helps a special place in many people’s hearts. They are ‘paws-itively giddy’ to get started with their fundraising.
Sunny Bear
Many children at Brook House contributed to the overall design of the Bear with rainbows and sunbeams being a prominent design theme. Their design features a range of nature images such as trees, rivers and flowers. Central to the design is a sunbeam face which highlights a huge smile. Covering Sunny Bear are a range of coloured love hearts filled with upbeat messages and inspiring thoughts.
Their school core values are also incorporated with a bee logo such as ‘be kind’ and ‘be safe’. The lasting visual memory for most people including children from these recent Covid times is a rainbow, and to create a rainbow you need the sun. Sunny Bear reminds everyone that good times are ahead of us.
